Importance of Earth's Hydrosphere

Earth has a water on its surface which is very unique. Our planet is also called the blue planet because it is covered by water. This water  includes freshwater in rivers and lakes, saltwater in the oceans and estuaries, groundwater and water vapor. These bodies of water are called hydrosphere.Hydrosphere is the earth's water budget,it is about 97 percent saltwater and the remaining is 3 percent freshwater.

Water is very important because it is essential to life, without water humans would die in a week because human body is mostly water,it is made up of 60 percent water,50 percent blood and our brain is 77 percent water.Water is used in our daily lives because we are using it for cooking, drinking, bathing, also for our personal hygienes and etc.,without water humans cannot survive, our environment would be unclean because water is the first agent of cleaning  our surroundings especially our homes.Other animals needs water in order to survive because not only humans are needing it but also many living organisms.Water can also be used to generate electricity through hydro-power and we already know that electricity  is also very important to all humans and industry because we are using it everyday.

Water also provides a habitat especially to the animals living in saltwater and freshwater .Because of the structure of the water molecule it is able to dissolve substances in it.This is very important because if water wasn't able to do this, life would not be able to survive. For example in the rivers and oceans, dissolved oxygen means that organisms such as fish are still able to breathe. For plants, dissolved nutrients are also available.Clouds are also considered as hydrosphere because it is composed of evaporated water.During precipitation water falls to the ground which is called rains and rains are very important because trees absorbs its nutrients through their roots to their stems and leaves. Also water is needed in plant's photosynthesis, the food production process in plants.

Water also affects the weather, thus water can directly or indirectly add the extremity of weather conditions such as drought brought by the El Niño and the long rainy season cause by La Niña.
